Vectorisation
Now that the decision had been made to use the idea of urbanity as the main conceptual focus for the artwork it was time to begin the designing. After sketching a number of geometric shapes that resemble skyscrapers, these building designs were digitalised for use within the final album artwork.
Composition Ideas
The final sketched composition was created by arranging a number of the geometric skyscraper shapes with a number of other geometric lifelike forms to create the final artwork. These geometric forms were used by means of seperation between the two layers that would be used to create the screenprinted design, with one layer action as the background fill and the front layer acting as the foreground detail.
To finalise the composition another of the initially outlined concepts was included to further deepen the conceptual meaning to the artwork. Due to the nature of unsurity and confusion outlined in the lyrics of the song the silhouette of a side profile head shot was used as a means of containing the geometric artwork. This insinuating the fact that the troubles outlined within the song have a direct relation to youthfull urban life.
