For the visual components of research for the Jessy Lanza artwork design brief a number of famous album artwork designs both vintage and contemporary to aid the evaluation and idea generation process of how the composition and components of the artwork design can look. The list of existing examples of artwork design below all feature and exhibit examples of ways in which simple geometric shapes can be combines with vivid vibrant colours to create attractive and eye catching design. While allowing the design work to remain closer to the field or art by means of form over function, opening up avenues of allowing the artwork to be understood conceptually by the listener/viewer without having it spelt out to them.
This became immediately apparent that it is the avenue to do down with the design as the intention of the artwork is to invoke feeling and emotion within the consumer in comparison to the music, without spelling out a singular finite emotion from the design and music.
These three examples not only offer valuable research pertaining to the construction/composition of how geometric shapes can be utilised within design but also offer an insight in to prospective colours that can be utilised within the design. These examples of artwork outline clearly how vivid and vibrant clour can be used in order to add emphasis to the nature of the music the artwork pertains to. Due to the upbeat nature of the music itself, a range of bright colours have been implicated to ensure there is a contextual link between artwork and content.
