OUGD603 - Extended Practice - Jazz En Boucle - Idea Generation

Due to the fact that the research section had come to the end it was then time to begin the idea generation stage, of which has been informed by the themes identified during the research.

A number of prospective brand identity ideas were outline that all fell within the categories of design outcomes outlines earlier, stretching between the sectors of illustrative and typographic design outcomes, as these were identified to be the two possible route from which the branding can evolve from. A number of possibilities from both of these creative areas were rationalised. 
The possibilities of design outcomes were also all informed by the earlier stages of conceptual and contextual research also.

Reoccurring themes of which are vastly related to the festival itself were experimented with in order to commence the branding. These themes discovered surrounded notions of nationality due to the fact that the festival is French, jazz related themes such as the forms of the commonly used instruments and finally simpler less contextual themes such as typography in which aesthetic will take priority over concept. Allowing the conceptual side to be manifested through other direct design decisions.
